Hi I'm Dr. Lester, thanks for taking a moment to visit my site. I'm a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and I completed my residency at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. In my career I consider myself fortunate to have worked alongside some of today's brightest minds in psychiatry and medicine. As an independent physician I draw upon my knowledge and experience to deliver quality psychiatric care to individuals and families right here in Bucks County, PA.
As an adult psychiatrist I see patients age 18 and older. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, geriatric psychiatry and dementia related care, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anger management, as well as couples and family therapy.
It is my belief that in order for effective diagnosis and treatment to occur a psychiatrist should understand their patient's life story, complete past medical and psychiatric history, developmental, family and social history, as well as the patient's own unique combination of personality traits and behavioral patterns. It's not uncommon for medical conditions to underlie psychiatric presentations, so physical exam, labs and imaging studies are sometimes part of the diagnostic process. Lastly, I believe in a collaborative approach that emphasizes shared decision making between patient and doctor. When it comes time to discuss medications and therapy, your thoughts and preferences will always be respected.
Being a physician and dutifully following HIPAA laws aside, I believe it is my personal responsibility to ensure that your health information stays protected.
We've implemented information security measures that far surpass what you will find elsewhere in the healthcare industry. I do not use any commercial electronic medical records or transmit your psychiatric care notes anywhere electronically.
It turns out both patients and doctors enjoy the efficiency and flexibility that telepsychiatry offers. Current outcomes based research suggests virtual appointments are not inferior to traditional office visits. I agree with this and offer telepsychiatry options as well as traditional in-person visits to my patients.
